Would you be able to keep a pair of any vieja species (such as Argentea, Zonatum or Regani) with lower jaw species?

??? Anyone

Cool. I was actually scared it would be the other way around. I'm planning on getting a pair of zonatum or argentea. They will be 7-8". My biggest poly is 13". I have heard zonatum's can be really aggressive.

Another question. Has anyone ever had a successful spawn in a tank with polys in it? Is it possible? I would think that the polys would eat the eggs when lights go out.

The aggression of the breeding cichlids could be a bad mix with the polys, but if your tank is big enough then it might be ok. IMO you'd be best to decide if you want a breeding pair or a community, the two don't usually work well together.

Yeah, I have the polys up for sale in the market, but have no takes as of yet. I really don't want to get rid of them, but I really want the pair of viejas. What to do

i have breeding africans in with sens no prob...different but simmilar at the same time...

i have a breeding pair of flowerhorns and a pair on crenicichla sp. "venezuela" with my bichirs with no problems
