My female red devil has laid eggs 3 times in 1 and a half months and i have a male oscar in there with her is it possible that they could mate?? All of the eggs before have been unfertile

Well more than likely not really. Since you don't actually know a positive answer to whether or not your Oscar is a male unless you actually vented it. And plus Oscars have a very odd mating ritual and hasn't been shown mixed with another cichlid.

If the "Red Devil" laid the eggs they would have to be fertilized as she was in the preocess. The sequence is the female will lay a few eggs and the male will immediately swim over and drop milt. It's not unusual for a female to lay eggs without the presence of a male.

The second thing is how do you know the Oscar is a male? They are sexually dimorphic...meaning the boys look like the girls. Short of flipping them over and venting them, it's impossible to tell male from female.

I doubt it,but theres only one way to find out.;)
and dimorphic means the sexes are different, oscars are monomorphic

it is impossible for them to cross breed the dna is too different.it would be like a dog and a cat having babies.

Not really, since dogs and cats are two completly different types of species. But it is possible for another South American cichlid to cross with another, it is just that Oscars do not usually cross with other cichlids. It happens most oftenly with Africans crossing with different sub-species of Africans.
