Is this possible:

I want to make a stand for 2 56 gal fish tanks and I want them to be one over the other, Is it possible or will it be over weight and the stand will snap?

what materials should I use, e.g Steel, wood.

Well, I don't really have the room, My parents are barely agreeing for just one tank.

You can build an over/under stand for a pair of 100 gallon tanks out of wood or metal so you can certianly do it for a pair of 56 gallon tanks.

Pixy, go to UA and you'll notice they have a 200G or something on a stand about 8 feet in the air. Im sure you could fit a 55G on a stand. And another on top.

People build stands for large tanks with good sized sumps underneath all of the time with no problems.

home depo.. gorrilla racks are good for 60gs

250+ pounds per sq foot, 1000+ pounds on a 48x12 inch footprint.

They make such stands & so can you ... whats the floor rated?
