Hello my name is Dylan and I am completely new to the hobby of monster fish keeping. I live in NY and I have always had a passion for stingrays, and they have always been my favorite animal since my early childhood. Anyway, considering I am new I would like to learn a lot before I undertake owning any stingrays. My question now is basically in the title. Can you house retic (teacup) stingrays with others such as motors, yepezis, etc. Thank you!

Keeping Rays together is always kind of a gamble. Some rays get along great with others and some can be aggressive. Leos seem to be the most aggressive, Try to keep them close to the same size and have a divider on hand in case things go south.

Mature males fighting each other or trying to breed a female will be your main problem so the more females the better

Make sure to read through all the stickies and do your research BEFORE you get a ray and you will be just fine :)

All right thanks for the info! I'll be sure to do my research for sure, and if I do get some rays I'll probably start with same species until I gain experience in caring for them.

Yeh I think u should try starting with motoro's cuz there one of the easiest to care for and they will not financially kill you...

Yeah, motoros seem to be the main ray for beginners. I still am iffy though because I know they grow to be a decent size and I'm not sure if I would be able to have a tank or pond setup to accomodate such a size. I've been doing research to try and find an alternative ray, perhaps a ray of near equal qualities but with a maximum growth expectancy of less than 20" disc size. Thanks for your post!
