Hey Everybody, Happy New Year!

I'm just asking mainly because I have an engineer goby for a few months now who enjoys wrecking the sand beds because he just cant decide where to stay, however is it the jawfish that makes a tunnel...and stays with the tunnel?

I would like a small fish that pops out of the sand once in awhile, but at the same time does not scare me thats it's gonna move one of the rocks and tumble... Any ideas?

I would be afraid that the engineer goby will start moving the rocks if it already hasn't started to do so.

A jawfish would work if you have enough sand for it; the various watchman gobies would also work.

Yeah thats what i fear, he doesn't make one tunnel...he makes dozens and bigger and bigger they get....i didn't care for a while until I finally got the rocks in the order where I will never want to change it.

How many inches of sand do jawfish need you think? I have 4 inches of sand in my display.

Live Aquaria says three inches of substrate for two of the three species that they sell; the other species needs five to seven inches of substrate.

Thanks I will look into it, hope fully I get some good credit off my naso tang and engineer goby at house of fins if your familiar with that store.
