Hi to all members,
Is it true that Arowana eats only live food. And they dont eat black colored food.

Dont blame me i heard this so though like i should clear myself .

No that is totally wrong. They eat all sorts of things, freeze dried crickets, Hikari floating sticks, frozen foods like shrimps, and so on.

agreed.
arowana can be trained to accept almost any food. i think someone was just pulling your leg.

or trying to justify their decision for feeding their arowana live food....

Did this come from a guy that can "Only" feed his Aro mice ? JP They can be trained to accept floating pellets and sticks freeze dried stuff..

I have an Australian arowana which is 21 inches and it eats everything we change its diet regularly from small tilapia fish, shrimps, fish pellets to "jing joks" (house geckos) and insects, arowana's can go without eating for a few days so if its not hungry it just will not eat but when it is it will eat just about anything that is on offer!

They eat everything....for pellets, you got to get them used to it first. Some may take it readily while you have to starve others for a while.

i saw some freeze dried shrimp in a store right now i feed dimisis shrimp would you recomend going with the freeze dried?

Can train other things than live ... in my observation, they do enjoy the chase and struggle in their mouths
