Right now, I got a zillions of non-native reptiles running around my permament residence. I am suspecting that one of the owners had a pair of pets and they escaped. Unless someone can prove that geckos and rat snakes are native to northern Alberta, Canada, I will be going on a mission to snatch these guys up. I don't want future owners to consider them as a pest and kill them; not when they can be made into good pets when they have been dewormed and deinfected or have the potiental to introduce new blood into a breeding stock without impacting the wild population.
Now since I will be moving back into my house in a couple of weeks, I am going to build a rack system and give them to people that want them locally. I would love to keep them all, but the price to provide them with pesticide-free feeders will be overwhelming.
Is this a good idea to collect them? Should I build a rack system for them?
