I got a 3-4 inches Jag and he is afraid of nothing. He beats the Oscar twice and the Oscar doesn't dare to fight him anymore.

Then he charges at 6-7 inches Emperor Snakehead and 7-8 inches Platinum Argus, who wants no part of the Jag.

I am surprised to see how fearless the Jag is. The major difference I see between him and others is that when others lose the battle they become submissive and cowardly. But not the Jag he never changes. He will persists until no one wants any part of him.

What a character! The Snakeheads can strike and bite if they want to but they have no will to do it.

What an impressive Jaguar Cichlid. He's growing on me. I will have to separate him if he's already a bad ass at 4 inches. .imagine when he's big.

Most jaguar cichlids are passive unless they're housed in a small tank.

But there are exceptions of course! Guess you got a psychopath of a jaguar.

Jag's are certainly hardy/tough specimens, not so much aggressive though. They rarely go looking for trouble.

Mine is in a 120G tank. So I got a psycho Jag. He only cares about keeping everyone under his dominance.

My male jag is fearless and the tuffest fish I've ever owned , he's lived with a evil jardini for years and held his own (he got bust up a fair few times) and has been on the floor a few times too , anyway he outlived my 2ft jardini surviving disease that cleared my tank stock out and now at near seven years old he's got a female partner and is banging out fry like there's no tomorrow in a breeding tank :D at least he's happy now

Occasionally you find indestructible cichlids and jags make good ones , hope yours grows into a beast that won't let you put your hands in the tank too lol :)

put somthing in there that will challenge its aggression. bigger SH. imo if the Sh are small. wait till there bigger.

A couple of his pics. I don't know if it's a male or female. It does have a big head, mouth, gill plates and big fins and tail when it spreads out.
