seems like my other plants may have benefited from it...especially the wisteria...

but the anacharis seems to all be melting away. i have been using it for a week now.

is this a bad product?
can someone recommend me something that can benefit all of my plants?

Some plants are more sensitive to over fertilization. Is it possible you are putting too much in? I know my Red Wendtii almost died when I accidentally double dosed my tank... also affected: Banana Plants smaller, lower leafs, got very thin, with some even turning tan. Bright Green Algae appeared in clumps almost overnight. The leaf tips of my Anarcharis turned brown. The Java Fern and Undulata grew rapidly.

Just use any cheap liquid fert, unless the tank is big... then use dry ferts as liquids cost too much at that point.

Howdy,

I use the same fert and my Elodea is just fine.

You probably added too much to begin with. Some plants require you to slowly increase the initial dose up to operating levels. The sudden change in nutrients might have caused it to melt.

I use it on tanks up to 220 gal with drip. It's really not that expensive!

i dosed 2 1/2 teaspoons. it said one teaspoon per 50 gallons. it was only one weeks worth of dosage. confused =\

You should dose after your weekly water changes. Thus, dose weekly. Question for ya... did you shake the fert really well before adding it?

Also, like a poster already stated, sometimes starting out with a weak dose is better than a weeks dose.
