So I thought if you cover the whole bottom of a pond by rocks it will pretty much do the job of a liner. Is this true? Do you have to have liner? If you do how much will liner cost for a pond of these measurements: 6 meters by 6 meters and it gets 1.4 meters at the deepest. The pond is on a slope, it doesn't go straight down, the slope takes about 1.5 meters from the corner (0 centimeters deep) to reach its deepest (1.4 meters), so there is about 3 meters squared area that is 1.4 meters, the rest is a slope. How much do you think the liner will cost? My personal guess is that the pond is 8,000+ gallons if gallons also matters. The liner I will be using is this one: http://www.creativepumps.com.au/zpumps/pond_liner/pvc_pond_liner/pvc_pond_liner.htm#.8mm (its the .8 mm one, not the .5 mm) Thanks for the answers every1

Agree, can't see how a layer of rocks would be a water proof layer. Are you comparing it to naturally formed rivers/ponds you've seen? Liners are pretty much a must for 'small' ponds to stop all your water soaking into the ground (either that or concrete and seal)

I THINK the OP is talking about an outdoor pond. If he is referring to an outdoor pond, he's going to need a liner to preven water seepage into the earth. You can use bricks and mortar to "cement" in an outdoor pond and probably not have as much seepage. I think we need a little more information.

I will be buying liner, just don't worry about it, I just want to know how much liner will cost, if you can help me the measurements and the link to the price of the liner is on the first post. Any one know how much it will cost?

Hey dude,

I just put in a pond at my house and there are pond kits for you for a few hundred bucks. You should start at your local pond specialty stores then compare their prices with what you need online:naughty:.
