Is liquid carbon safe for polys?

Just wanted to check if liquid carbon dosing is safe for polys. Thanks in advance!

I havent use carbon for tank cause i herad too much of it can harm fish, why do you need carbon for if you dont mind me asking?

It’s safe as long as u don’t overdose. Polys aren’t more prone to liquid co2.

Just asking cause with poly that gets big will uproot your plants.

I keep my adult lapradei with liquid carbon no issues. I recommend (if you can) to let the plants grow in a bit before adding the bichir cause they might dig up the plants by moving around them. Good luck !

Liquid carbon is more of an algaecide. Co2 isn't liquid unless at high pressure. There is very little plant usable carbon in it. There has been quite a few videos from a few sources proving it. While none of them are particularly scientific in actuality, they do show very little to no difference in plant growth over not using it. One video puts it up against pressurized co2 and the results show that pressurized co2 is obviously the way to go for plant growth. The reason I started looking in to it was I was using it and didn't see any improvement of growth. While I did see a reduction of algae in the tanks I used it on. Basically you'd have to put in dangerous amounts of it to see positive results and that is not even proven. Better off not wasting the money unless you have an algae issue that you might want to put a small dent in without taking the proper routes of algae control, or like me have source water that doesn't help.
