I am wondering this because I have recently converted a weeping bald cypress to grow in water and I am curious to know if anyone can tell me if it would be safe to add to my bog filter?

Thanks oddball do ya have a link to this database?

I've had cypress knees in my 55G for about 10 years. doesn't seem to cause any problems. no idea on the tree species though.

really, thats awesome. I hope my baldcypress eventually grows miniature knees

unfortunately, the database means nothing for aquarists unless you're working with the wood for your stand. just because something is not toxic to humans, does not mean it isn't toxic to other animals.
take aspirin for example. does great things for us and dogs, but is a quick way to kill your cat. we eat tomatoes, onions, and grapes- but all are toxic to dogs. robins eat berries from belladonna, if we eat them we get seizures, pain, kidney failure, difficulty breathing and hallucinations. or death.
