We just got this anemone yesterday and yesterday it was opened up and fine. Today it has shrivled a little to this. Does anyone know what is happening. Our water levels are excellent, except our carbon is too high. Could this be the cause of what is happening to her? Also if you notice in the picture she was throwing up a stringy substance, or at least that is what it looked like to me. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Thank you!

It does look a bit bleached but not sick. Most likely it is expelling water as they will sometimes do. A better answer can be given though if you provide more information as Twitter asked for. And how long have you had the system setup for by the way? Typically you want to wait at least 6 months before getting an anemone and since you didn't know the kind you had bought I'm thinking maybe it was for less than this?

I would feed it a bit more than normal until it started to colour up. give it one small frozen silver side every 3rd day and a little bit of cyclopese every second day until it starts to recover. You'll also have to keep your water pristine until it starts to regrow it's algae they help it remove a surprising amount of waste from it's body.
hth and please keep us posted.
