I just recently acquired a black aro, about 11". Will be going into a 210 gal shortly. However, I have currently been quarantining it in a bare bottom 40 gal for a week now, just to make sure that he eats properly and that everything is up on par. Temp is at 80-82 F. The 40 is an established tank, and all water parameters are good. I've also been changing about 1/3 of the water every 2-3 days.
The aro has been eating marketing shrimp and food sticks with no problems and looks to have a healthy appetite. The only thing i noticed is that she seems to be spending the majority of her time parked on the lower corner of the tank, behind the waterfall from my AC70 filter. Although I have seen her swim around a little more lately, it seems the bottom corner is where she goes when she gets spooked. Is this something i should be worrying about? or is it just my aro being shy?
