So i have an albino chlarius bathracus in my 100g with my hoplias malabaricus. Now i had the mala a good 5 months before the cat so he established his resting spot way before. Now once i introduced the cat these two have been inseparable... Like anywhere the wolf goes the cat follows, and the wolf doesnt snap or anything just keeps the cat alongside her. Anybody ever see behavior like this for a chlarius?

I've never has a catfish with my wolf, but my Mala has a strangely peaceful demeanor towards gars. My old FL gar was the only thing that could get close to my Wolf, and now, my new Gator gar is in the same position. Sometimes I see them resting side by side, and the wolf never gets nervous when the gar approaches.

If he hasn't killed it yet, you may be in luck, and that may be one of the best protected catfish in the world.

You don't have much in the way of hides in the tank so they're both probably using each other for cover, not unusual for either in my opinion. Mala's aren't particularly aggressive unless they're challenged or kept with another Wolf so it's doubtful he's ever given the Clarias any reason to fear him, so they try to use each other for security. If you added a hide that both wanted to claim as their own then it might be a different story.

I actually had like 3 pots at one point, the mala and cat always stayed in the open. The pots were figuratively collecting dust lol. N these werent small pots these things were like 12" diameter and 10" long

In my experience both the Wolf and most catfish prefer something tighter fitting, so the pot would be to open for them to feel secure. Big enough not to feel secure but small enough to make them feel trapped. Pots are generally very good hides for cichlids who like some room in their hides while PVC pipe such as you might find at homedepot make better hides for Wolves and Cats in my opinion.

Ahhh so thats what i did wrong. The baggy gangsta jeans are for cichlids, and tight skinny emo jeans are for wolves and cats. Gotcha!

Lol! That's a great way to describe it.

I'm sure that you have more sense than the guy in the video below, and would separate them if a fight should break out. Just thought I would post the video as a heads up, that it could be potentially nasty.

Beautiful wolf and cat, by the way. I miss my old Clarias.

I couldnt even watch the whole thing..wtf is wrong with that guy. The poor cat had no chance. No i love my cat to much to let that happen :( if anything like that happened id get rid of one. But i think part of the reason i dont for see it being as possible with my duo is because my mala has a bad eye. She came with that defect but I love her the same, it really plays with the vision though. When i drop shrimps in or that once in blue blue moon feeder if it lands up on my malas left it doesnt know its there

N thanks for the compliment :)
