Hey guys yesterday I noticed my clown knife seemed to be injured on two of his fins. His left fin and his top fin. Both seem to look like the same type of injury. My clown knife is 25 inches long and is with three 17 inch alligator gars. The rest of the tank mates are very peaceful, so I would imagine these alligator gars to be the only real threat and possibility that this would've happened.

Anyways I just wanted to check and see if his injury could possibly be a disease or sickness. Here are some pics, any advice would be appreciated. I did add some salt and some melafix to the tank.

Anyone got an idea what it is? Was just a bite/nip from the gator gar or could this be a disease? His right fin is perfectly fine.

mine had a few of those red streaks on the bottom fin when i got it, they went away after a couple weeks.

melafix for sure helps to me it just looks like hes gettin picked on a bit. Like they said a closer pic may help a bit better though. If hes gettin picked on be careful because it could go downhill from there. Is he eating still? Any difference in behavior? Yea I had a ck (not the one I have now) but my other one he was in with an aggressive south african. bit the heck out of him. put in a little salt and he was fine. However I made the terrible mistake of getting an eel who i thought wouldnt be able to fit a knife in his mouth....so no eel for you and you should be alright! Keep an eye on him though you wouldnt want him to get beat up more! Hope some of my essay helps haha
