toms river
ok so this guy has been moved around a bit...i had him in a tote w/ an air pump and on medafix for a while...then i moved him in a tank w/ gravel only to read that they eat and die from eatting gravel...now he's in his on tank w/ sand.

it's a plat endli bichir and he's always been sorta weird color wise towards the bottom and on some tips. he's not eatting super aggressively but prefers to hide...i'm giving him live blackworms and ocassionally other stuff...his frills or w/e they are have grow a ton and now are up...it looks a lot healthier but as you can see underneath he's still got like a a rub off...it looks like he was cut up at a point or something. not really sure

he is ok or not?

He should improve once all the Melafix is out of the tank. Never use this product on him again. I've had nothing but problems when using this junk on any air-breathers. Why was he medicated in the first place? Did he have signs of disease?

No mention of tank temp. Keep it at 80F and provide good aeration while he's still in the gilled stage.

Bloodworms are good but, offer him more of the 'other stuff' such as pellets, sticks, cut raw shrimp, clam/mussel meat, ghost shrimp, etc.

melafix has been out of his tank for 5-7 days...tanks at 80 now...

not using blood using blackworms...i have shrimp pellets...what sticks do you use?...he'll eat raw shrimp at this size? he's like 3 3/4" right now.

Throw the store brand shrimp pellets out (like wardley's). Check out kensfish.com for his earthworm and tropical sticks.

At 3 1/2", your poly can easily eat thawedraw shrimp, mussel, clam, etc. so long as it's cut to size.

i think he getting use to the tank. give him a couple of days. i got my albino from a lfs and he was eatting bloodworm. now im training him to eat pellet and he has a hardtime but he getting better at it.. but bloodworm temp him to eat and he eat it like nothing. but try to make him get use to both

not as much worried about how much he's eatting because he looks bulkier and his i just am gonna say frills are 100% fine now and his fins grew back but his tail has like a black line on him and he looks like scratched up on the sides...he's been like this since i got him just looks like i could scrub him a little and he'd be pollished...
