Hey guys!

So I've had my fahaka for 5 months now. He is approximately 5". I was wondering why his markings aren't as straight or as complete as other fahakas I've seen. I've read stuff that says its stressed though it has been this way ever since? He eats a whole lot and always swims around the tank. From bare bottom decorated background to plain black bg with white sand. I understand that the white sand make its color lighter but im just not so sure with the stripes. My waters are also good and my tank size is pretty big for him too. Could it just be genetics? Thank you!

Wouldnt say your puffer is stressed, just got a more botchy pattern... my old girl was the same but when she was in full attack mode or saw something she really didnt like, her stripes would go almost full black and very defined...

in other words, its nothing to worry about unless you notice her behaviour being off from normal...
