I have three 11 inch silver arowanas, and they've got quite an appetite. Although the package for the hikari food sticks says it has everything the arowanas need, and that live food can be eliminated, I have heard otherwise from other threads. So here is my feeding schedule (the number is for all 3 arowanas as a whole):
monday: 30 food sticks in the morning, 15 mealworms at evening.
tuesday, wednesday, thursday: 30 food sticks morning / evening.
friday: 30 food sticks morning / 20 medium sized crickets at night.
saturday: 20 medium sized crickets morning / 15 mealworms night.
sunday morning: 15 mealworms morning / 15 mealworms night.
and cycle through.
I would actually prefer to just give my arowanas nothing but food sticks, if that would be just as beneficial as this schedule. However, if introducing crickets and mealworms will really make a difference, i'd be glad to buy them some. Tell me what you guys think!
