Is my festae normal?

I've had this guy for 3 weeks now and hes king of the tank hasnt killed anything yet but rules it none the less. My question is why does it still appear washed out an stressed? its about 10-12cm long i thought it would be starting to get a bit of colour by now the water parameters are spot on and I do regular water changes. excuse the dirty glass

looks like a female to me (though she is a bit small to tell for sure), and doesn't look stressed to me, she is just still young, festae take awhile to color up and yours is still quite small GOOD LUCK

was gonna say male too due to the lack of red and the length of the fin

like sarah said to young to tell. but id go with a early guess of female. theres not one siingle blue speckle on that fishes fiins which usually points female. also they dont all color up nice ive seen some very drab adults. your just going to have to wait and see. if down the road its still drab then get it a mate. that will bring the colors out

nice lil festae sex is hard to say at that size.
