is my fish going through a color change?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i didnt really notice a change in color from the video but it looks like you have a red devil mixed with a parrot and if your referring to the black parts that's perfectly normal in red devils. sometimes if a fish is stressed or in a certain mood it will change color become more faint.

when i got him 3 weeks ago, he was completely orange/red, but now he's got black patches on his body/lips/eyes. i just wanted to confirm that he wasn't sick or something.

He might be dyed or something... Or hes just about to fade, again.

Usaully black spots are an indication that the fish is beginning to fade, but the fish looks as if it has already faded. Or it could just be growing into its adult colors. My guess is dye though.

It does appear to be breathing very heavy, That doesnt look good, Definatly Blood parrot in that Devil.

the heavy breathing probably has to do with the temperature of the water. it's at 88 degrees right now :\. i introduced 2 loaches in there last week and they had ich, so i had to turn the temp up and put in aquarium salt. the good news is their ich is not visible anymore :D
