Is my flowerhorn a shortbody?

Hello, I was curious to know if my fh was a shortbody? He was purchased in november 2017 at 1inch and every since was left in a 45 gallon, now he is about 5-6 inches and quite thick. Just wondering if he is a short body because he hasnt had a growth spurt in awhile, any opinions??

Thanks for the help. I wonder if he would breed with a 5 inch female blood parrot I have if I introduce her to his tank, any opinions?

Probably won't breed with blood parrot(fertility issues), but try breeding with another Central American cichlid

If you have a proven female, then you can try it. Would suggest making the flowerhorn more bigger than your parrot. There offsprings if successful would look like a kirin or round body.

Female parrots are usually fertile. Breeding this fish to parrot would yield no SB and definitely not kirins.

In my experience, they look like short body or round body when I paired mine, some come out ok and some came out "looking" like a kirin one. I kno to produce kirin u need to cross breed it multiple times. nonetheless you can always try to pair them.
