Is my frontosa's dorsal fin deformed

Hello Forum!! i picked up this Frontosa (male????) a few months ago at 4". When I got him i noticed a indentation on his dorsal. He was being kept in a pretty cramped tank so i figured it would heal.

Now he is 6" and pristine. except his dorsal is the same. He is a great fish and i will keep him regardless but I curious if this is common. I am sure is why his price was low....although he is so robust I would have paid more. I would love your opinions! Thanks!

Hope so. I just has not changed much and the fish has grown a lot!!

I have a similar dip in the dorsal fin on one of my Fronts. It has been that way since he was a fry. There is dorsal fin below it. It is simply just a little dip in it.
