The heater cuts off automatically, but still Temps are high, I'm using led lights and a hob filter if that helps,Hello; First there are other things that can warm tank water. Lights can add heat. Mechanical filtration does generate small amounts of heat. Also the motors give off heat. The old incandescent lights were very hot.
About the heater. Most heaters have an indicator light that shows when the heater is on. Look for that.
Heaters do fail either stuck on or stuck off. Try unplugging the heater.
No, I have an egg crate like thingTight fitting lid?
Hello; The heater indicator may be set at 78 F but could actually be turning off at 90F.set the heater in my flowerhorn tank @78f, but my glass thermometer shows 90f,
At 78f will my tank feel warm to touch? , cause it does now.Hello; The heater indicator may be set at 78 F but could actually be turning off at 90F.
Or the glass thermometer may not be accurate.
No, I don't but I cross checked my thermometer with on of my friend's and it's actually accurate, so I guess my room temp in conjunction with the heater must have increased the Temps.Do you have another heater you could test out?
