Hi guys

I have a 8" male Jaguar appearing to be in the best of health and spirits. BUT, he either eats too little or does not eat at all, thereby leaving behind lots of uneaten food, and making me do daily water changes on him :irked: I try feeding him Tetra Bits and OSI Cichlid Premier Pellets (which all my other CA cichlids relish), a lot of which just goes waste :( I want him to get started with BHM, but he doesn't even go near it. Any hints or tactics you guys have up your sleeves ?

Please help.

maybe you should think about live food. I would get rosies. there a little more expensive then gold fish but there better for your fish. And there fast so your Jag will have to work for his food.

buy beefheart at the grocery store, cut the fat off (important) and give him a few peices. Don't feed him for a few days first. Earthworms, krill, bheart. Either one might work.

I spent my precious 'net time' downloading your video. Wont forgive you for this
I get your point anyway ;)

That WAS the point. Feeders suck. I hate seeing it posted anywhere. Why take a shot on loosing a valuable adult guapote over one five cent feeder. If your fish is not eating...stop feeding it for a week. Then add only a little bit of what you plan on feeding as a staple diet. Chances are the amount of food you are providing now is too much. Add only what you see them eat and don't second guess what you THINK they should eat. If the fish is apparently healthy in every other way, roll with it. I have over a half dozen Managuense and each has it's own schedule and attitude.

Good luck. and for the record I have received hundreds of "hate mails" over the video and primarily time invested in getting it. LOL I love it.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

My jag is the same size as your and sounds to be as pickey too. Mine will only eat bloodworms, nightcrawlers, and my convict feeders. I notice he will act as if he is going to eat the Hakari pellets then stops and looks at me like im crazy!:screwy: I really want to get him on pellets. I tried the starving thing for a week and it didn't work for my Jag, but thats not to say that it wouldnt work for yours. Good luck!

I wish i could help but my Jag a lil smaller than yours eats whatever hits the water whether live frozen freeze dried frozen or prepared. Guess I am lucky.
