Hey peeps,

I have been monitoring my jar for a about a week now really closely and it seems that he has a white band on his left eye, when you look at the eye the whitish bit is top left hand corner of the eye, and it looks like its pushing the eye but they eye doesnt really look like its bulging and he doesnt have anything worng with his eye at all just the outside of it.

I read on the net that a whiteband around the eye is sometimes caused by the diseas thing (popeye) pushing the eye out and stretching the skin, could this be happening? Also i have wood in my tank and he could have just bumped it on a sharp piece, but i dont think it would be a band around the eye? also could it be overfeeding or underfeeding? as he was put into his new tank about a month ago and he hasnt been eating correctly, but tonight i feed him his favorite food (worms) and he was gulping them down like no tomorrow.

I have one more thing to add, i just got an eel today and i was moving the gravel around to bury his piping, but after i was done i realised little worm like sqirmy things in my water, and luckily they got sucked up by the filter quick smart, but there is still probably some in my gravel. Could this cause the whitish band? i only did a water change/gravel clean on saturday and didnt see any wormy things in the water or gravel.

i am going to get some worming thing for my fish tomorrow and mabye a drop eye remedy if my fish has it, or if there is a remedy? And i did try to get a photo but he just swims away and my camera inst very good.

hope someone can answer my Q's. im a bit worried!:(
(and sorry for the long post)

thnx in advance

can you post some pics? maybe your jar just rubbed its eye on something, lets just hope its ok. drop-eye is not that common in jardinis

hmmmm try and leave it for a few days if it worsens put up some more pics

Jars do, occasionally, get PE ( although I belive even less than asians ).

How are the worms? little white wiggly things? very little?

it does look a bit irritated..... but i guess you'd just have to let it be for a few days....

thnx for the comments!

well the band seems to have cleared up a bit, but when he is in front of the filter his eye gets pushed down and the bulge comes out, i dunno what it is.

and the worms are liek a browny colour and they swim like snakes, tehy are about 1cm long and they seem to have a head and a tail.

khuli loaches, i would get some but they r 4 bucks each and my bullrout would eat them no worries and im not gonna waste my precious money lol

hmm if the worms stck to the fish constatly i dunno but if they swimround they could be blood worms especially if theyre found in ur gravel.
