Hello, I've got a 20 gal saltwater aquarium and I was wondering if it is sufficient enough for corals. I currently have a brown torch coral, red mushrooms, and a frogspawn and they all seem to be doing well and happy. My lighting system is two T5 HO 24 watt bulbs one white one actinic and a 12.5" royal blue LED stunner. Will this be good enough for more kinds of corals? Will they grow?

Thanks

good for what you have and should be good for softies zoas palys etc and most LPS

+1. Should be good for LPS, but if you want to start doing hard corals you would need more. I have 21wpg on my 5.5gal sps dominated nano reef

Ok sounds good, I really only wanted to do softys. Some hammer coral, zoas, bubble coral, stuff like that. And if I ever wanted to upgrade what would you suggest? I know metal halide are good but there a little out of my price range. What do you guys think of LEDs?

T5's and halides really cant compete with LEDs. They take less energy, make less heat, they give very nice shimmer and the color options are just as plentiful as T5. The only issue with LEDs right now is price. They are the newest technology so they are expensive. I use LEDs on my nano reef and im so glad i made the switch

What would be a good choice of LED for my 20 gal?
