Is my Oscar sick?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how long have you have him ? hes probably fine , prob just getting used to his new tank, has he eatin? give him time and stay with water changes and it will be healthy

I have had one of my oscars for nearly 2 years and i have seen him swim all sorts of funny ways, its comical most the time to see him swim backwards and strangely... But back to the point, mine swims weird and he has never been sick before, if you had literally just got him a few days ago it is very likely he is just getting used to the tank as Frosty said. but if you are worried about him, make sure his water is healthy for him and do your changes.. I hope all goes well, Enjoy the O, they are awesome fish!

It's not unusual for oscars at all. Mine still do it now at 14 inches!

My smaller O like to wedge himself behind my one piece of Holey Rock almost completely upside down. Scared the Bejeebus out of me the first time I seen it. Grabbed the net to fish him out only to have him attack the net.

Os are a strange fish indeed. But if your water is healthy and he's eating. I'd put my $$ he's fine.

My two i had where very funny there never like a lot of people in my house at xmas when everyone came round they just sat on the floor together and never moved until people went it was very strange but i loved them and oscars are lovely fish and i would have some more if i could.

Alright thats good then. I just got him yesterday and he started eating last night and started chasing my dwarf gourami so I think he is doing good now. Thanks
