ok well i have my oscar and well evreytime i turn the light of his tank on he goes completly bilistic and starts smashing in the window really hard, flaring up, swiming fast and bumping into the windows is this normal its only when i turn the light on, then he stops for a bit and then continues whats going on?

Possibly he sees his reflection when the light turns on. I doubt if he is reacting to you because Oscars are pretty laid back. One way to test this theory is to put your light switch on a timer and watch from a distance and see what happens. Don't most people use a timer for their lights?

i don't i should. but i dont. Is the room pitch black when you turn the lights on? I've had fish go balistic when going for complete dark to light. So i've learned to turn on a room light and wait for the fish to adjust and then turn the light on. Kind of like a sunrise for the fish

hes settled in and only does it when the lights go on he seems as if i dont exist and starts banging on the back window and swiming fast and bumping in to the side windows my red devil does this to but not as bad

My Red Belly attacks the glass everytime my GF walks by then he swims at the speed of light banging everything up down left right then goes and hides behind a plant..............some fish are just psycho.
