On franks site he lists an "estrella" as one with larger and smaller spots which mine clearly has but you see these rays more referred to as "galaxy" which I would unfortunately need to probably say no to... What do you guys think

i think that whatever it's called it's one gorgeous ray! :)

I think its to early to tell. As all p14 look like that as pups. Like Mikes true galaxy look kinda like that. You will be for sure able to tell in about 6-12 months. But i would say 50/50 and Im not sure how many true galaxy Nico has

Estrella is a castexi variant, so obviously it is not one of those
:)
pretty P14

Yeah only see this name used for castexi variant of rays. I would have to say your P14 is very nice looking compared to the other ones I kept from Franks last import, But I would not be consider it a galaxy. Here are some pictures of my galaxy P14.

mmm.. Estrella is just the south american term for 'Star'... right?

So it's just a common name..

I have heard that Estrella was used for the P14 by those who collected it, and they were oblivious to the fact that others were calling a castexi variant Estrella..

Just a term for having more spots on a p14 or a term for a type of castexi.. not much different than calling a little ray a 'teacup'..

I am going to hybridize a ray and call it p69 Potamotrygon sp. "SuperDuper" :D

Great ray, jealous..

all nice p14s in the pics above :D

i just dont like this name galaxy some p14 are just more spotty than others all p14 are nice

i wouldnt pay anymore just because a ray had more spots

p14 change so much as they grow thats the fun in them

the name stated chould be why they are called starry ray in asia :D
