I bought a 10" aro a few weeks ago, I notice some time it swim to the side of the tank and then do a quick 180 spin, and then swim away. It will do a few time then act normal again. Is anyone can tell me is that normal or is that got anything to do with water quality? Also is anyone can tell me how old is it for a 10". Thank's.

Wait... I am confused as to why you think it is stunted?
from what I read and understand his aro is just swimming then spinning 180 and swimming back... how does that make it stunted?

I personally think he is still trying to get use to the tank or is a little skittish still, give it some time.

Doesn't sound like anything out of the ordinary.

The OP asked how old we thought it could be at 10". Fishwhisper's comments make a lot of sense if you read the question at the bottom of the OP's post see below.

No it does not make any sense, just because an arowana is 10" long does not mean it is stunted :duh: Most likely it is 10" because it is 8-10 months old.

Your still not understanding, he was saying it is impossible to really know the age without background info. In most cases when you buy a large fish it is stunted. Just because most people on here take good care of there fish doesn't mean the rest of the world does. I guarantee at most 1% of the worlds fish keeping population is on this site and the people on this site are hardcore enthusiasts; even with that knowledge there are a lot of people on here that don't provide the proper conditions for fish. So you got to do the math, the majority of fish keepers in the world are just ignorant to the proper mechanics of fish keeping.

That being said people with your knowledge of fishkeeping should be out educating people. Just remember no one wants to learn from some one who is condescending and insulting. I hope you you will spread your knowledge to many people because the world could benefit from what you have to offer.

If u would kindly read the reply again he said its probably stunted without knowing anything about The arowana. On top of it he added drop eye saying its the arowana favoring on side cuz of drop eye.all in all his post makes no sense and is irrelevant to the topic the open posted

No I understand completely, yet you are only speculating. He said it was probably stunted, yet provides no info as to why. The aro is 10" I can guarantee that 99% of ten inch arowana are not stunted. The guy was talking without any viable fact or info regarding the matter, the comment was nonsensical at best, yet your supporting the comment. :screwy: You yourself seem to be lacking in any type arowana experience or knowledge as you seem to think 10" is "large" :duh:

Why is it that you think I am responsible to educate anyone? I am more then willing to share my knowledge, but people need to be responsible to educate themselves on that matter instead of being lazy or slacking. If I am too condescending for ya, tyr doing a little research on your own then.
