I recently got a 2' snowflake eel. the store I got him in told me to feed him Kryl, so that is what I got him. I tried a day after I put him in.. and he would not eat. then I tried to feed him 3-4 times since then.. and NO LUCK. he wont eat. I am literally holding the food in front of his mouth and he wont eat. any suggestions?

I feed my zig zag blood worms and he doesnt seem interested in that. should I try Myso shrimp? I feed those to my puffers but not sure if the snowflake would like that. it has been over a week and he has not eaten yet. =(
:(

mine did the same thing. got me worried for a week too. then got him to eat silver sides and frozen squid. Id actually, at first, get a line and dangle it in front of him. Got that advice here from a fellow monsterfishkeeper and it worked. GL!!

Also keep in mind that true eels have similar eating habits to snakes, they dont eat very often. You may also want to try and soak what hes eating in garlic to entice him (speaking of which, Entice is a good brand for a garlic dip) or see how he likes some live shrimp if you have access to any (ghost shrimp) . Snowflake eels really like krill and silversides from my experience.

I have the Hikari brand Kryll from him.. but he just looks at it. no eating. also I feed my zig zag by hand. snowflakes are not that tame, are they?

My snoflake eels both eat really strong for a while then stop eating for awhile i just stop feeding for a fewdays so id expect a hunger strike for a while after moving them

for your snowflakes, how much salt do you have in the tank? I cannot put too much because I have 6 cichlids in there, 4 plecos and 2 knifes.

Try live ghost shrimp. You may also want to switch the eel to a species tank, they do best in brackish and tend not to live long in FW.
