Ok I am going to add what the guy above suggested and then I think I will be out of 2x4s. do you guys that build your own stands paint the 2x4s or anything to protect them from moisture?
I decided not to add the 2x4s to the bottom I am going to put a plywood bottom in and seal it so that minor leaks from water changes and stuff won't get on the carpet.
I mean, to be honest ,your stand looks just fine. Extra never hurts, but I don't think you need to go out of your way to get it done. If can, then do. If no can, no worry.

Hello; Paint won't hurt and will give a bit of protection from moisture. These things are easier to do now and should pay over time. I have found that stands tend to be in use (outlive) much longer than tanks.
Carpet and tanks are often a bad combination. I already made a long post on the subject and will not go into it again. This has led to big problems for me and I no longer put tanks on carpet.
