HI there,

I'm new on here so first and foremost, Hi to everyone :)

I picked up some girlfriends for my two males swordtails yesterday and I'm not sure if one is pregnant.

She has a more rounded belly than the other girls, she is very grumpy and seems to be mostly hiding under my bridge and snapping at anyone who comes near her. She also has some little black dots on her belly, but because i only got her yesterday i don't know if this is just her natural colouring. The dots are just tiny black spots.

I have attached some pics and she is the dark blue/black female.

Help????

Yes, chances are that if the females had ever been housed with males that both of them are pregnant and livebearers are able to hold sperm for up to 3-4 pregnancies afterwards i believe. been awhile since i read up on em so could me more/less but pretty sure thats about right. So pre-gratz and u will have lil babies everywhere before you know it =)

Thanks heaps! I'm off to get lots of plants to hide her coz sher is too stressed to put her into the multi breeder I think

what ever you do DONT put her in any multi traps or any traps! that will stress her out more then anything being inclosed in a small confined area. a female in labor wouldnt want to give birth in a closet would she? i woiuld theink she would be to stress from being confined in a small inclosed area...

yes just get as much plants so that the female swords can hide ( nice swords btw )
