I know there are several different races of these guys that have difering colouration but the reason why I ask is because mine looks quite a bit different to most that I see online.
I've kept other Vieja sp. before so I was just wondering if anyone could give me a definitive answer, and if he is a syn EXCELLENT!

I know its hard to tell with a juvie, so I understand if its inconclusive. just showing a lot of green and yellow shine.

thanks for the comparison, my guy seems to have a longer more bold black stripe, and bright green eyes. all yours seem to have the reddish eyes.

i bet his are gunna turn out bifa i can tell by the crooked line and color on top fins

thats what I've been thinking, it looks much more like the juvie Bifas I see than the Juvie Syns. I wanted a syn so I will be happy if its a Syn, definately an interesting one already.
but I can still love a Bifa. Would just like to know is all.

hopefully some Vieja expert can help out I think Aquamojo has a bunch of vieja he might stop by

Well I got it from Petland, but I know how what you order in isnt always what the list says it is. and a lot of Viejas look similar at that size. I realised when I got it home that It doesnt really look a lot like the young Viejas i see.
