Hey guys, I want to start a saltwater tank and my 30 gal is being used up by my freshwater fish. I have a 10 gal put away from when i started my freshwater tank. Is this to small to start a saltwater tank:confused:

come now people can be a mfker in their heart not all can afford big tanks

and why is it wrong place they are asking about set up size of a tank

I would say you could do a sw set up in that but not much in it in terms of fish, I would recommend find a used tank of min 30g

AND WELCOME TO MFK I see by your post count you just started

I hope you have a great time here the community is a great group lots to learn and see here

A tank is only to small when the stock is to big.

That said people have SW and FW tanks as small as 1 gallon or sometimes even smaller, so not a 10g tank isn't to small.

A smaller saltwater tank requires a lot more care than a larger version. You will learn that no matter what tank size you have, its too small, always too small.

Exactly, smaller salt, or any tanks for that matter, are harder to keep stable. But you can definitely keep a ten gallon salt water tank. But you'll eventually want to go bigger.

I wonder if arapaimag looks at the 52,000 gallon and thinks, "Damn, if i had just gone with a couple thousand more gallons....."
