This fish never quite looked like the synspilum it was sold to me as, for a while I thought it was a bifa. then more recently I thought it was a Synspilum as they do come in different morphs. well it seems like this fish changes species every month or 2 because his colours and patterns just keep getting more confusing as he ages. he is getting pretty aggressive now.

i've seen some cool viejas on here that i've helped trying to identify it seems they are a pretty tricky genus of fish especially as they seem to go through such radical colour changes as they develop. it would be nice if anyone could say if they've seen a fish like mine, and what they think it may be?

this is also an oppertunity to show you guys some nice photos of the fish that I took because he was looking particularly cool today.

yeah, I know he is starting to look kinda Bifa. hes one curveball of a fish. wouldn't a bifa or syn already have a red face by now? he has a greeny blue face with green sparkles and a red throat. it would be nice if he developed a full red head but I don't really see it happening.

he is around 4.5" right now, and about 2.5" high.

wow look at those fins! until recently mine only had the single black bar. I can see how they do look similar, when did yours develop the red face?
