Is myspace a good website to meet people?

Hi, I was wondering. I moved into a new state and don't have too many friends. Is myspace a good site to meet people? Or is it just a social networking site where people just keep in contact with their friends in real life?

I think facebook is better. Ive got a facebook account, and i think its less prone to viruses than myspace.

From personal experience its a good idea. I have met a few people off myspace and were still friends today even years later. I know a couple people that moved from other states and that's how they made new friends.

Like a city sport team (if your into sports) or something along those lines?

You'll make plenty of friends just from this site alone! I don't have a myspace account.... (wife would kill me) so I can't confirm.
