is natural play sand ok for a saltwater tank? or atleast is it ok to mix live sand with the other sand? or play sand and crushed coral?

I wouldn't I have natural play sand in my fw and it kinda sticks to rocks and stuff. If u want to mix it with live sand idk how it would look cause live sand is a bright white and play sand is a light brown. It wouldn't hurt anything though.

I agree... I tryed the playsand once... and ditched it the next day... it just didnt settle right and had this mucky look to it... Id just fork out the extra dough for Aragonite

You'd probably wind up with a huge Diatom outbreak as commercial sand has a greater amount of silicates for prolonged breakdown life than that of natural seasand.

I concur with Otherone.... I tried to cheap out on sand on my 5g pico tank and it was a chronic problem
