Is NGT only aggresive to another Dats ?

In my 240, I have 22 dats. All from 10-16" in size (St's, IT's, NTT's and 1 NGT)

The NGT is known to pick on the larger ST's and IT's. They all have been together for at least 2 years. Nothing harmful other than chasing each other around. I am going to vacation for over a week next week and I am afraid that the agression may be too much for the rest of the communities.

If I move the NGT to a tank with bichirs and gars, will he be aggresive towards the new tankmates ?

My NGT lives with Gars and Bichir, never seen any aggression. On the other hand, he has half a dozen other dats in the same tank to vent his aggression on.

My NGT is about 12". He'll be in a tank with 6 bichirs (15-21"), 17" Cuban and tropical gars

i would try it, i wouldn't imagine aggression spiralling into total chaos in one week when it has been decent in 2 years.

I doubt it... my NGT only bullies dats and other bulky fishes. It leaves the lengthier fishes like the bichers, aros, and gars alone.

I agree. My 6" NGT only chases around my 8" IT and 13" Azul. Leaves the 13" Tigrinus, bichir, and large clown loaches alone.

Id leave him w/ the other dats. A week not being able to monitor a new tank scenario is a while.....he may spook the gars.

I have a 7'' ngt w/ 4 orino's(6-12''), and he punks them. But leaves the polys alone.
