hey all,
been a while since i have posted, life has been crazy, but for the good.

so i recently have had a discus die from skinny disease, i had taken him out and
qt him but he did not make it, i have recently noticed that possibly 2 other discus
might be sick. i have decided to treat the whole tank to be safe. i have 10 discus
and 2 marble motoros. what would be the best meds to help the sick fish plus prevent
the others from getting infected if not already infected? any personal experiences with
discus and /or rays on any meds that will help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

i have used Fenbendazole with discus in the past with success but im not sure about using on rays. i am basically looking for the best but safest med for internal parasites. i know its pretty broad but without knowing exactly what it is, i need something broad spectrum

as for the discus, he ate fine and for the most part acted fine, then he started getting dark, which is a bad sign. all at the same time slowly started wasting away. all while still eating until the end....

Or do you mean the fish got skinny as if from some sort of chronic wasting "syndrome?"
Posting some info might help.

5. 10 discus 2 rays , for as long as i have had the tank cycled.
6. no qt all fish added together
7. 84 degrees F.

Is the fish rubbing it's self on decor? What color are the feces, are they stringy? prazipro has worked in the past for me but I have never treated discus..... I used it with metro. If it's a intestinal parasite treating the water maynot resolve the problem.

Metro to dose the food

Yes soaking the food with garlic juice and Epsom salt. The juice is just to get the fish to eat the medicated food
