I was at a lfs today and they had a beautiful 7 " Festae priced @ 40.00 bucks. I was considering to purchase him. Wish I had my phone with me.
Had to slap myself from the impulse buy. Figured it would create chaos in my current community tank. And I am saving my available species tanks for something a little more special in the pike species.
Will be in area tomorrow and will get some pics and post.

A little steep but not ridiculous...It's not like festaes are uncommon but they aren't readily availible (at least not around here). If you really want it I'd go for it, you might not see another one for a while.

that's a good price I'd say. at that size (if available) it'd cost up to $100 here.

shadow i saw a 8 in female today in the lou for 50 as well as 8 in barred midas he was very docile and 9-10 in colored midas bangin glass 50 each so price sounds about right for our area

Festae that big are uncommon at best, so if you liked it enough, go for it.

I know it is a female and a wild caught one. but I was worried about what kind of chaos it would cause adding her to an all ready established community. I was worried that adding her to this tank of males would create havoc and wasn't sure if she could or would try to mate to one of them.
A female Festae is less aggro, correct?
Am wanting to add two more Cichlids. One of them I am wanting to replace the argentea that I lost.(w/ an Argentea) I am planning on moving them all two a 300 by years end.

Thats a pretty good deal for a festae actually, dependin on the gender, females of that size would definately be more expensive, and even more so for a male...haha...so yeah...good idea to get it if you have the cash/space.
