Hi all I used to keep stingrays and succsessfuly bred them 4 times over 3 years .
I have since closed down the ray tank to start a discus tank.
My question being is RO realy needed as with my rays straight out the tap water did them fine over 3 years .
Thanks

You don't need RO water to keep discus. However, if you want to breed them you will need soft water. Discus eggs don't develop in hard water.

I agree. I keep wild discus in tap water with 7.6 ph and have no problems. I get eggs every now and then but they are gone the next day. I have no interest in breeding.
