is slate safe

I was thinking of using some slate in my tank is is safe?

Yes. If you are scared of it.. Boil it.. Which is suggested if you foudn it yourself or purchased from another hobbiest... Diseases cross in many ways... Boiling will take care of worries

I've never had a problem with slate in my tanks, where is the slate being considered coming from?

here in southern ohio slate is always in creek beds, and ive used it for tanks in the past--i just powerwash it and throw it in.. ive never had any problems with it.

I've always kept slate rocks in my tank, never had issues.
