I went into my garage early this morning before work to check on the fish and for some reason one of my 3 inch mono peacocks was very pale colored. The lights were still off but the other mono was normal colored. Since I've had them I haven't seen that happen. They both eat perfect and have been acting perfectly normal.

I was just wondering if it had something to do with just the lights being off. I've had them two weeks and I haven't seen them get that colorless.

I won't have a picture till I get home from work but if you have any info I'd appreciate it.

yes the lights off fish look totally different. usually more washed out. i wouldnt worry unless he still is pale after an hour with the light on

My smaller cichla do this some when the lights are out also, I wouldnt put to much into it if they seem to act normal. Do they have stress lines? If so that could be a problem, but they would act stressed also.

Being light in color or washed out look is another sign of stress. Being small, I would spend more time with them so that they can get use to you. I put all my bass or skittish fish in a high traffic area with little to no decorations so that they can adjust to a lot of outside movement and different people.

So far I've only seen them do it that one day, they've been fine since then and they still eat like monsters!
