I set up a new 29 gallon tank. I added like 60% water from my main tank. And the rest regular tap water with bit of prime to condition that tap. I'm running a sponge filter and added 2 bags of ceramic media from established sump. I also threw in like 20 guppies to try n speed up cycle. It's been running for 3 days now. The guppies even already bred I seen babies this morning. Should I do a wc or let it run for a little longer is it cycled ? I'm getting some fh fry shipped to my door by Thursday

Would testing water give accurate results for what the filter is capable of if 60% water is old water? I think it would inform of the current parameters but not necessarily attributed from filter?

I would think just the filter running for a couple of days would be enough to cycle all the old water through. I'd suggest testing the water, doing a water change, and then testing the water again.

Yah I was hoping that it would be enough but I will do a small water change before new fish go in
