I have just upgraded my 6x2x2 to a 8x2x2 it is home to my Jardini Saratoga, my filtration on the 6FT was a Fluval FX5 and a Otto PF-2000N.
My question is will this system be ok for the 8FT tank, or will I need another FX5.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thats a very long tank. I would use two canisters and one sump.

My tank is close to that being 8x30x2 and i have 2 FX5's and a sump.. I'd say "atleast" add one FX5 maybe more if you plan on stocking a bunch of fish in the future.

You can get away with one if you have a powerhead or wavemaker to blow all the crap from one side of the tank to the other where the fx5 inlet is. As others have said you can get another and have reassurance and stability of a second fx5.

I have an fx5 and a fluval 405 on a 240 long and I am currently in the process of getting another Fx5 to put on the tank. I agree with everybody else the 405 is on the opposite end of the fx5 and there is a noticeable difference between the two. I would go ahead and get another fx5 you wont regret it.
