Is the red altum a true altum?

I have been looking around and can not find info in great detail about these guys another name for them is Sao Gaberial Altum.
 
Yes it is an Altum, sp. Soa Gabrial found above the Soa Gabrial rapids I beleave. it occers in a different area than the "classic" Altum we see from the Rio Negro or Orinoco. More of a local vareant with red on the sholders. Very nice looking fish with the same requirements as any other Altum. There are some very nice looking Altum races we never see in the trade.
 
thanks for finding out. Is there anyone that would ever be carring these guys or even better do you know of any other types of altums.
 
i have some red altums... their fins and top of the body have a pink/red tint to it. got them from justin @ ocean aquarium in sf but i dont think hell be getting anymore anytime soon... rick from cichlid association said he was gonna get some in but im not sure..
