is there a difference ???

Scientific Name Pangasius sanitwongsei
Common Name(s) Chao Phraya Giant Catfish, Paroon Shark, Pla Tepa

I think I recall vaguely someone calling Paroons a High-Fin Shark, Emperor Shark, etc. So, the answer is no, IMO. Yet, I'd not be surprised that different local names exist for various Pangasiids (there are at least 12 recognized species and I'm sure more is coming) and show up in the hobby and, hence, there easily can be confusion. Emperor is an easy name to use for any majestic, big fish. For example, consider hybrid synos: any striped fish can be called a zebra or a tiger syno and any spotted fish ca be called a jaguar syno.

I cannot offer anything better than looking at the sizes here... http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/family.php?family_id=21

BUT, most of the max size info is very young, meaning surely more data will be coming especially for the newly described (taxonomically) Pangasiids (there used to be only 6 or so until recently; now 13). So, the max size is not firmly established for at least half.

k kool
do they have and predatory shark that only get like 2-3ft max???

What do you mean by "shark?" Assuming you aren't under the impression that Pangasiids are sharks (?), there are hundreds of catfish that fit that description. If you are looking for actual sharks (which Pangasiids are not...), then I think there are a few species that stay under 3ft.

I guess you want me to look for you:

Pangasius macronema http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=1369 is only 12"
Pangasius nasutus http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=1243 is only 32"
Helicophagus typus http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=2085 is only 15".
Helicophagus leptorhynchus http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=2086 19"

Again, they probably get bigger but how much, I don't know. One can certainly try.

i mean shark as in catfish that like never stop swimming and nice and silver and black ish
