as the title says I was just wondering is there something on the
market that would put on a fish safe coating on a unfish safe decoration to make it fish safe?

I have some cool nic naks that I think would be awesome as tank decor.
I have thought about maybe fiberglassing them but wasn't sure if that would work or if there would be a better option.

I would use epoxy resin. I used west system epoxy to make a background. Works great.

From what I've read, epoxy will indeed to the trick - however you'd want something that comes out crystal clear, though even then it could give your nick nacks an unwanted sheen.

I wouldn't care if it had a sheen to it as long as it makes them fish safe, I am wanting to use it on some Dragon nic naks that are really awesome looking.

is there a clear epoxy ?

Yeah there is a clear epoxy. We used it to coat some cool looking branches that we weren't sure were fish safe. Didn't change the look much. We just kind of painted it on!

The West System epoxy is clear. I've used the standard resin and hardener with no noticeable yellowing. However, they make a different hardener that's specifically designed to stay clear, the 105 resin with the 207 hardener is what I'd use. Pretty easy to find at boat supply stores.

You said you're using some dragon nicknacks...are they glazed ceramic? if so, they're probably fine to use as-is.
